Laureate Education Q2 Earnings Call Highlights

Laureate Education reported higher enrollments, revenue, and adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter, prompting the company to raise its full-year 2026 outlook. The improved performance was supported by solid operating results and favorable currency translation effects.

President and Chief Executive Officer Eilif Serck-Hanssen noted that year-to-date results have exceeded internal expectations, driven by sustained demand across key markets. The company's online and hybrid programs continued to attract new students, contributing to the enrollment growth.

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter came in ahead of analyst estimates, reflecting both higher revenue and disciplined cost management. Management cited strong execution in Brazil and Peru as particular bright spots, with both regions posting double-digit enrollment increases.

The revised full-year guidance calls for revenue growth in the mid-to-high single digits, with adjusted EBITDA margins expected to improve modestly compared to the prior year. Currency tailwinds, especially from the Brazilian real, added roughly two percentage points to the top-line growth during the quarter.

Laureate also highlighted progress on its debt reduction strategy, with net leverage declining year over year. The company did not provide specific share repurchase plans but indicated that capital allocation priorities remain focused on organic investment and balance sheet strength.

Shares moved higher in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
