Wilson County School Board Approves Mobile Classroom Lease for Rock Ridge Elementary

The Wilson County Board of Education voted unanimously this week to approve a two-year lease agreement for a mobile classroom unit at Rock Ridge Elementary School, a decision aimed at easing space constraints at the growing campus.

The contract, valued at $103,767, covers the lease and installation of the portable unit, which district officials say will provide additional instructional space while longer-term facility plans are developed. Board members described the move as a practical response to rising enrollment and limited room within the existing building.

In the same meeting, the board adopted a set of school improvement plans covering campuses across the district. The plans outline academic goals, strategies for student support, and measures for tracking progress over the coming year. Officials said the plans were developed with input from school administrators, teachers, and community stakeholders.

Board members emphasized that the mobile unit is a temporary solution and that discussions about permanent facilities at Rock Ridge will continue. District staff will monitor enrollment trends and report back on how the additional space affects classroom capacity and scheduling.
