KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island's Center for Military and Veteran Education, known as MAVE, held its annual Veterans Award Luncheon recently at the Hardge Forum inside the Multicultural Student Services Center. The event recognized graduating seniors from the program along with community partners who have provided exceptional support to student veterans.
During the ceremony, MAVE presented several honors to individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond in their service to the military-affiliated student population. The luncheon serves as a yearly tradition to highlight the achievements of veterans transitioning into civilian academic life, as well as the network of allies who help make that transition possible.
Awards were given for academic excellence, leadership, and community service. MAVE also acknowledged faculty and staff members who have demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting veterans on campus. The center continues to play a key role in connecting student veterans with resources, mentorship, and a sense of belonging within the university community.
The event underscored the ongoing mission of MAVE to ensure that those who have served the country receive the recognition and support they deserve as they pursue their education at URI.
