Four Candidates Compete for Sayreville School Board Seats

SAYREVILLE, NJ - Voters in Sayreville will see four names on the ballot for the local Board of Education on Election Day. Eloy Fernandez, who currently serves as board president, is among those seeking a seat.

The candidates are competing for positions on the board that oversees the district's schools, budget, and educational policies. School board members in New Jersey serve three-year terms and are responsible for setting district priorities, approving spending plans, and hiring superintendents.

Fernandez's bid comes as the district continues to address issues including school funding, facility needs, and student achievement. The other three candidates are also vying for voter support in what is expected to be a closely watched local race.

School board elections in New Jersey are typically held alongside the general election in November, though some districts move their votes to April. Sayreville's race is part of a broader set of local contests that will shape education policy in the coming years.

Residents are encouraged to check their polling locations and review the full ballot before casting their votes. Polls will be open during standard Election Day hours, and results will be tallied once voting concludes.

The winners will join the board at a time when districts across the state are navigating budget constraints and shifting enrollment patterns. Their decisions will affect students, staff, and taxpayers throughout the community.
