December 18, 2024 – Grandfather Mountain, a beloved not-for-profit nature park, is set to expand its offerings with the development of a new interactive education center designed specifically for young explorers. The facility, named Yonni’s Clubhouse, will be located in the renovated space of the former Fudge Shop and is aimed at children aged 5 to 12.
Scheduled to open in the latter half of 2025, Yonni’s Clubhouse will provide hands-on science and environmental education experiences. The center will feature interactive exhibits that delve into crucial topics such as pollinators, climate change, weather patterns, and ecosystems.
In addition to the indoor displays, the educational concepts will be brought to life outdoors through sensory and pollinator gardens, a nature trail, and various activities complemented by interpretive signage. This initiative represents a significant step forward in enriching the educational landscape for young visitors, fostering a deeper understanding of nature and conservation.
