In a quest for both athletic and academic excellence, track and field athletes are making significant transfers to Elon University. Mikayla Jones, who previously competed at Catawba College from 2021 to 2024, felt it was time for a change. During her search for universities in North Carolina, she stumbled upon Elon University’s renowned data analytics program and its master’s degree offerings. Intrigued, she decided to visit the campus and connect with the coaching staff, ultimately making the decision to transfer.
Similarly, sprinter Arianna Alexander, who dedicated five years to California State Northridge, was also on the lookout for a new program. Although Elon offered her a full athletic scholarship, it was the university’s strong academic reputation that truly captured her interest. Both athletes are eager to leverage their talents in track and field while pursuing their educational goals at Elon, aiming to break records and make a lasting impact in both arenas.
